For quad biking in Marrakech you have two options. The quad ride in the Marrakech Palm Grove is 15 to 20 minutes from the city, costs from 350 MAD per person and takes about 3 hours in total. The Agafay desert quad ride is about 30 to 45 minutes away, costs from 700 MAD per person and takes about 4 hours, for the same 2 hours on the quad.
Both rides include round-trip transport from your hotel or riad, a guide, a helmet and a mint tea break. No driving licence is needed, drivers must be 16 or older, you pay on site on the day and cancellation is free.
Palm Grove or Agafay: which quad ride?
Choose the Palm Grove if you want a shorter, cheaper outing close to the city, on tracks between palm trees and small villages. Choose Agafay if you want open desert scenery and do not mind a longer day, on stony tracks and hills with wide views.
The Palm Grove (Palmeraie): close to the city
The Palm Grove is the palm oasis just outside the centre of Marrakech. An air-conditioned vehicle collects you from your hotel or riad, and the transfer takes about 15 to 20 minutes. After a 20-minute welcome and safety briefing, where you get familiar with your quad, a professional guide leads a small group on a 2-hour ride through the palm groves and traditional villages. There are photo stops along the way and a 15-minute mint tea break in a local setting.
The Agafay desert: open, stony landscape
Agafay is a stony desert of dirt tracks, rocky stretches and hills, about 30 to 45 minutes from Marrakech. On arrival you get a safety briefing and your equipment, a helmet and goggles, then a guide leads a small group on a 2-hour ride across the desert, with stops for photos. During the ride you stop in a desert bivouac for a traditional mint tea. Tours run every day, and the late afternoon, towards sunset, is a good time to ride.

How much is quad biking in Marrakech?
A 2-hour guided quad ride costs from 350 MAD per person in the Palm Grove and from 700 MAD per person in the Agafay desert, with transport included. If two of you share one quad, you pay one price for the quad: 500 MAD in the Palm Grove (250 MAD each) and 900 MAD in Agafay (450 MAD each).
The price covers the quad, the guide, the helmet and safety equipment, the mint tea and the round-trip transfer. A 100 MAD supplement per booking applies if your hotel is more than 10 km from the city centre. In the Palm Grove, meals, extra drinks and photos or videos are not included. Riding alone costs more, but each of you drives your own quad for the full 2 hours.
How long does a quad ride take?
Plan about 3 hours for the Palm Grove and about 4 hours for Agafay, from pickup to drop-off at your hotel. The riding time is the same, 2 hours with a guide; the difference comes from the drive.
Start times for both rides can be booked between 10:00 and 18:00. With only a morning or an afternoon free, the Palm Grove fits more easily around other plans, such as a visit to the Medina. In Agafay, a start at the end of the afternoon lets you ride towards sunset.
From what age can you drive a quad?
You must be 16 or older to drive a quad, in the Palm Grove and in Agafay alike. No driving licence is needed and beginners are welcome: you get a full briefing before you set off, and in Agafay the guide adapts the route to the group.
Younger riders can come along as passengers. In Agafay, younger children can ride as passengers with an adult, and passengers are also welcome in the Palm Grove. If you are travelling with small children, ask the team before booking. The same driving age applies to the buggies and to the quad packs, and on the Quad and Camel pack under-16s must be accompanied by their parents.
What should I wear for quad biking?
Wear closed shoes and comfortable clothes suited to off-road riding. For Agafay, also bring sunglasses and sun protection, since you ride in open desert.
You do not need your own gear: a helmet is provided on both rides, with goggles in Agafay and safety equipment in the Palm Grove. Leave sandals and flip-flops at the hotel, as closed shoes are recommended for every quad and buggy ride. If you book the Quad, Lunch and Pool pack, bring swimwear for the afternoon.
Is transport from Marrakech included?
Yes, both quad rides include the round-trip transfer from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. The vehicle is often shared with other participants, and a 100 MAD supplement applies if your accommodation is more than 10 km from the city centre. Once the local team has confirmed your booking, you only need to be ready for the pickup.
Quad or buggy: which should you pick?
Pick a quad to ride on your own at a lower price; pick a buggy to sit side by side or to ride as a family in one vehicle. Buggies are priced per buggy, not per person, and the driver must also be 16 or older.
- The buggy ride in the Marrakech Palm Grove lasts 1 hour at the wheel, from 1,000 MAD per buggy for a 2-seat 500 cc model. 4-seat buggies start from 1,900 MAD per buggy, a good fit for families and small groups. Plan 3 h 30 to 4 hours in total.
- The Agafay desert buggy ride lasts 1 or 2 hours at the wheel, from 850 MAD per buggy for 1 or 2 people (1 hour, 500 cc). The 2-hour rides start from 1,200 MAD per buggy. Plan about 3 to 4 hours in total.
For two people, a shared quad stays cheaper for the riding time you get: 500 MAD for 2 hours in the Palm Grove against 1,000 MAD for 1 hour by buggy, and 900 MAD for 2 hours in Agafay against 1,200 MAD for a 2-hour buggy ride. A buggy makes sense if you want to choose the engine size or need four seats.
Can you combine quad biking with a camel ride or a pool?
Yes, three quad packs combine the ride with another activity, transport included. Each is priced per person, children pay the adult price, and quad drivers must be 16 or older.
- The Quad and Camel pack in Agafay costs 500 MAD per person for 1 hour on your own quad and 1 hour on a camel, with a tea break. Plan 4 to 5 hours with transport. Book a late-afternoon time and the camel ride takes place at sunset. It is also the lowest price for a quad ride in Agafay, with a shorter session on the quad.
- The XP Boost quad and paintball pack costs 900 MAD per person in the Palm Grove, with a quad session, a paintball game and a soft drink. The activities last about 2 hours plus transport. Paintball is recommended from 12, and young people aged 12 to 15 must be accompanied by their parents. It works well for groups of friends.
- The Quad, Lunch and Pool pack in Agafay costs 1,150 MAD per person for a 2-hour guided quad ride, then a three-course lunch and the pool at La Bohème Agafay. The group transfer leaves at 9:00 or 11:00 and returns at 17:00 or 19:00, and the pack is for at least 2 people.

How do I book a quad ride in Marrakech?
Open the ride you want, choose the option (your own quad or one quad for two), the date, a start time and the number of riders, then send the request. The local team confirms the booking, you pay on site on the day, and cancellation is free. If your hotel is more than 10 km from the city centre, add the 100 MAD transport supplement, and for anything the product page does not answer, ask the team when you book.
