Horse Riding Experience in the Agafay Desert

Horse riding in Marrakech takes on another scale in the Agafay desert, a stony landscape of open trails and rocky hills near the city, with views of the Atlas Mountains. On arrival at the riding base, the team welcomes you, matches each rider with a horse and gives a safety briefing (about 15 minutes). You then set off for 60 minutes across the desert trails with professional guides, who stay with the group for the whole ride. A safety helmet is provided.

You can book with or without transport, and the price is per person in both cases. With the "with transport" option, an air-conditioned vehicle picks you up at your hotel or riad in Marrakech, the drive takes 30 to 45 minutes each way, and the outing lasts around 3 hours in total. Without transport, you go directly to the riding base in Agafay; we send you its address when we confirm your booking.

No riding experience is needed. Children can ride from about 5 years old, accompanied by an adult, and the team chooses horses suited to their age and level. Meals, drinks and personal expenses are not included. Payment is made on site on the day.

Wear long trousers, closed shoes and comfortable clothes suited to riding in the desert.
