Spend two hours with a family cooperative that has been making pottery in Marrakech since 2019. The workshop covers 300 square metres with a wide terrace, and the shop next to it is filled with their own mugs, cups and vases.
Three workshops are on offer, each lasting two hours with a Moroccan tea. In the pottery workshop your hands shape the clay directly, and children are welcome from the age of three. In the ceramic painting workshop you pick a piece on site and paint it. In the embroidery workshop you personalise a tote bag with the pattern and the colours you choose.
You leave with your pottery the same day for decorative use. If you want the pieces fired for everyday use, they are ready about six days later and can be delivered anywhere in Marrakech for 50 MAD. Painted ceramics are collected 48 to 72 hours later and are dishwasher safe.

The pottery workshop is at Lot El Massar, Marrakech. Ceramic painting and embroidery take place in Gueliz. Come on your own or add the round-trip transport option when booking. (30 to 45 minutes)
Welcome and introduction
Meet the artisans, see the workshop and the shop, and go through the materials and the techniques. (15 minutes)
Your two hour workshop
Shape the clay with your hands, paint the ceramic piece you picked, or embroider your tote bag, guided step by step. (2 hours)
Moroccan tea break
Sit on the terrace with a Moroccan tea and talk with the artisans about the craft. (15 minutes)
